The idea of a gorup of health professionals joining together to learn about all methods of healing was orginated with Beatriz R. Olson, MD, FACP, about 14-years ago, in 1996. At that time, the concepts of integrative medicine were just begining to be talked about around the country. Over the years, Lotus has welcomed providers in traditional Western medicine as well as a wide array of healers from complementary health care.

We use the format of "grand rounds" presentations to share our knowledge and teach each other about approaches to healing that we may not otherwise learn about in our own separate professions.

Always, we seek the highest standards of academic knowledge and evidence but we remain open to traditions that may not yet have a grounding in science as we know it. Afterall, it is only recently that modern science is able to document the many benefits of meditation.
