| Inward Bound LLC 1625 Straits Turnpike, Suite 208 Middlebury, CT 06762 (effective 04/01/09) Phone: 203-592-9309 inwardbound@snet.net Specialty: Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Education Bachelor of Science Degree in Management 1995 Teikyo Post University Waterbury, CT Training Completed the Stress Reduction Program-Professional Internship at the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society; Department of Medicine; University of Massachusetts Medical School; 2002 Certifications Greater Waterbury Chamber of Commerce; Leadership 2000 Program Philosophy In pursuit of finding the passion of my heart and purpose of my soul, I discovered Mindfulness.I believe we all have a purpose in life; sometimes known, sometimes unknown, yet very much imminent. The "busyness" of our daily lives, society, what we assume to be "a way of life" has robbed us of discovering who we truly are, as indviduals. We are not the roles we play in life, we are not who we wish we were, we are not who someone else wants us to be, we are simply who we are. In the process of discovering who we truly are, which does not change who we are, we are then able to be at peace with all the challenges, pain and sorrow we face in this lifetime. In order to discover who we are and to find peace within, we must first be mindful. What does that mean? To be mindful is simply bringing your awareness to this moment, this breath. One moment, one breath at a time. Be present, be aware, be mindful, without judgment. How do we accomplish that? Various meditation techniques assist us in being present to this moment. Each in-breath represents a new beginning; a fresh start. Each out-breath represents an ending or a letting go. With each breath, you are complete. If I can help at least one individual, in one moment, with one breath, to find peace within, than I have accomplished a great deal and so have they. Services Experience mindfulness meditation, including eating mindfully, mindful walking, bodyscan and gentle yoga stretches, as well as cognitive behavioral exercises; such as responding vs. reacting in stressful situations. Notice thoughts, body signals and emotions while letting go of judgment. Notice what makes communications difficult and apply mindfulness to achieve a positive outcome. Please join me for either an individual or group session in Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction. Six-week sessions are available for both mature and young adults, families and organizations offering stress reduction to their employees. Speaking engagements offered. If you wish to discover who you truly are, find peace within, meditate, be present in this moment, noticing yet letting go of judgment, you’ve come to the right place. Meditation CD’s including bodyscan and yoga CD’s are available. |
