PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMS

Monthly Lotus educational meetings are open to all licensed or certified health care providers.

Meetings are held at the Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center - Main Conference Room. Click here for directions.

A light supper is served at 6:30 PM. The educational program begins promptly at 7:00PM and ends promptly at 8:00PM.

All of our professional programs are evidenced based or experiential and meet the highest standars for continuing medical education.  Our speakers range from local practitioners of Integrative medical modalities to renowned physicians, authors and researchers.

Each program offers one hour of Category 1 Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit.

The business meeting follows the educational program and is for Lotus Members Only.

 COMMUNITY PROGRAMS

Education is a major commitment of Lotus. In the fall of 1998, we offered a successful series of lectures to the community with much praise from those who attended.

In 1999, we invited allopathic healers to a spring lecture on Integration of Health Care. Later that year we offered a unique experiential learning opportunity on Nutrition and Mindfulness.

The year 2000 began with Dr. Beatriz Olson’s presentation at Medical Grand Rounds at Waterbury Hospital. She provided evidenced based research for the value of some complementary and alternative methods of care. Many physicians in the audience thanked her for such an in-depth presentation.

Many of our members continue to offer learning opportunities to our community on a regular basis. In 2007 & 2008 Carol Ann Lucia, a Polarity Practitioner, and Dr. Jim Prado, a chiropractor, have both developed and taught courses for the Osher Life Long Learning Institute at the University of Connecticut's Waterbury campus.
